Demise of the Jam at Flat Iron

    The rumor going around this week it true; the Thursday Night blues jam at the Flat Iron is no more. I heard from several folks last evening - not musicians but attendee's BTW - that they were very sorry to see it go since the Flat Iron had a certain appeal to it. I always hate to see a good blues jam go by the wayside, but as it happens there is a new one that just started up at J R's Corner Tavern, 901 Greensboro Rd, High Point 336 887 9144 8:00 to midnight on Thursdays. Hopefully it will fare better.

    I wonder if that new 'House of Jazz' & Blues downtown near the ballpark would be interested; seems like a music minded name.

    I'm not even sure that place is open. Let's hope the Thursday night jam finds a new home. I love sitting behind Mike's drums (he's the drummer in the excellent Lawyers Guns & Money).
